Hanumantmal Road Accident: Bike Rider Killed, Two Injured
A tragic road accident in the Hanumantmal area has plunged a family into deep grief and once again raised serious concerns about road safety in the region. On the Hanumantmal–Bildha Road, a car coming from the opposite direction rammed into a motorcycle, leading to the death of a young man from Maharashtra during treatment, while two other youths riding the bike sustained serious injuries and are currently undergoing medical care. The incident has caused widespread shock and fear among local residents.
According to available information, three friends from Yavatmal District were living on rent near Umrathana, Surgana Road Tower in Nashik District for the past one month. The trio—Vijay Kashinath Chauhan, Sahebrao Gyaneshwar Chauhan, and Sandip Bandubhai Lux—had come to the area in search of livelihood and were working as daily-wage gas repair laborers. Like many migrant workers, they were traveling from village to village to earn their living.
On January 2, early in the morning, all three friends left Umrathana on a motorcycle heading toward Dharampur for work. The motorcycle was being driven by Sandip Lux. Traffic conditions were reportedly normal at the time. However, when they reached the Paras Faliya area of Hanumantmal on the Hanumantmal–Bildha Road, an Eco car coming from the opposite direction suddenly collided with their motorcycle.
The impact of the collision was severe. All three riders were thrown onto the road, creating panic at the accident site. Local residents rushed to help as chaos briefly ensued in the area. The accident scene highlighted the dangers faced by two-wheeler riders on narrow and busy rural roads, especially when vehicles approach at unsafe speeds.
In the accident, Vijay Kashinath Chauhan sustained relatively minor injuries. However, Sahebrao Gyaneshwar Chauhan suffered a serious head injury, while motorcycle rider Sandip Bandubhai Lux sustained multiple serious injuries, including a fracture in his leg. The injured men were in visible pain, and immediate medical assistance was crucial.
Showing prompt humanity, the Eco car driver, Ashish Gavit, arranged for all three injured youths to be transported to Dharampur State Hospital with the help of a 108 ambulance. Doctors at Dharampur State Hospital provided initial treatment and closely monitored their condition. After preliminary examination, medical staff declared Sahebrao Chauhan’s condition critical due to the severity of his head injury and referred him to Valsad Civil Hospital for advanced treatment.
Despite continuous medical efforts at Valsad Civil Hospital, Sahebrao Gyaneshwar Chauhan succumbed to his injuries during treatment on January 5, 2026. His death cast a pall of sorrow over his family and friends. The tragic news deeply shocked his relatives residing in Maharashtra, who are now grappling with the sudden and painful loss of a young family member.
Meanwhile, Vijay Kashinath Chauhan and Sandip Bandubhai Lux continue to receive treatment at the hospital. Doctors have reported that both are in stable condition, though they remain under observation. Apart from physical injuries, both survivors are said to be mentally shaken by the traumatic incident and the loss of their close friend.
The accident has once again drawn attention to the issue of road safety, particularly on inter-village roads where speeding, lack of visibility, and driver negligence often lead to fatal outcomes. Local residents have expressed anger over reckless driving and have demanded stricter enforcement of traffic rules to prevent such tragedies in the future.
In connection with the incident, Vijay Kashinath Chauhan has filed a formal complaint at the Dharampur Police Station. Police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, including the speed of the car and possible negligence. Statements are being recorded, and further inquiry is underway.
The Hanumantmal accident stands as a grim reminder of how a single moment on the road can change lives forever. As the investigation continues, the tragedy has left behind grieving families, injured survivors, and an urgent call for improved road safety and responsible driving.
